Reservation Policies
Reservations are required for events and rentals including, but not limited to, birthday parties, group picnics, weddings, professional photography, filming, field trips, and tours. These activities are not permitted without a reservation.
Our reservation process applies to all events held at the Arboretum as defined by the University grounds use policy:
“Other than uses for casual recreational or social activities, reservations must be made for the use of buildings and grounds under the control of the University, including University sidewalks (an “Event”) .” (Section B., University of Alabama Facilities and Grounds Use Policy).
If you are uncertain as to whether your activity qualifies as an event and requires a reservation, please contact us at arbor@ua.edu. Violators of this policy may asked to leave and the university police department (UAPD) may respond to assist with enforcement.
The conduct of these events should comply with the policies of The University of Alabama and The University of Alabama Arboretum.
Events will be scheduled at the discretion of the Arboretum Director, with consideration for the ecological integrity of the Arboretum and priority given to events related to its mission, academic classes, outreach programs, and other University of Alabama sponsored groups.
Request a Reservation
Please download a copy of our rental request (pdf) to begin the reservation process. You will need to save a PDF copy and email to us or print and mail.
Read the rental agreement (pdf) and look at our rental rates (pdf) for more information about our policies. You will receive an email when your request has been approved with a rental agreement attached. You must return the agreement and submit payment to confirm your reservation.
Request a Field Trip or Tour
Please download a copy of our field trip and tour request (pdf) to begin the reservation process. You will need to return the completed form to us by email or mail.
